Sneek Peeks

Saturday, April 2, 2011

Goodness, finally have some time to update. Yippie! Last month was super busy and stressful. Thankfully, it tapered off a bit. So now, I can sit down, catch up on all things related to blog & photography.
Last month, I had the opportunity to photograph two newborn sessions. Excited, heck yes!! Nervous and anxious, nope not at all! Haha! Ok, who am I kidding. Of course!!!
Any photographer will tell you shooting newborns requires an enormous amounts of patience. Ha! Told myself I've got this characteristic covered! You look up 'patience' in the dictionary, you'll find my name. Alright, maybe not! Family and friends can attest that there isn't a single ounce of patience in my body.  Yet, some how I decided to tackle one of the most difficult category in photography. Must admit though somehow I managed to find that virtue. J, my assistant and hubby will corroborate this!  Albeit it only lasted during the photo shoot. Hey, it's called 'Patience is a virtue' for a reason. =) Enough of my babble though, here are some sneek peeks from my newborn shoots.

First up is baby Mahalee Danica ~ my goddaughter. The little princess belongs to my best friend and her hubby Spencer. Mahalee was only 2 days old when we shot her session. She's such a cutie, but will let you judge for yourself.

My second newborn session was with the Ruiz Family. I took their family and maternity photos back in January. Unfortunately, the beginning of the year was soo hectic, I never found the time to blog them.
However, I'm sure they are super anxious to see a few sneeks of their baby boy.
Baby Bryant, 13 days old

Thursday, March 10, 2011

So excited about today's post. It's all about my friend Jenn! The wait is over! I know you've been dying to see more images from your session. Thanks for waiting so patiently! Now, please stop spamming my inbox!  j/k :o) Sad, that my days of living vicariously through are over. Ha ha! But super excited that you'll be spending the rest of your life with Steven. I'm so happy for you for Jenn! The hubs and I can't wait to celebrate your marriage in May. Might I add, the perfect month to get married too. Ok, I'm biased since May was the month J. and I got married. Now onto the images.

Sneak Peek: Jenn & Steven

Goodness, the last time I posted was in July 2010. Then again I've been so busy, I really haven't had time to shoot let alone blog - even the personal blog has been on hiatus since last year. However a New Year, brings new opportunities, right?!

Two weeks ago I had the chance to photograph this adorable 8 year old. He's such a chatter box, smart and stylish too. Gina, it was a pleasure shooting photos of your son. He's a natural in front of the camera. A model in the making =)

Smiles of Life: Jenny + Baby Bump

Thursday, April 22, 2010

It's been one crazy week, but here are a few more photos from Jenny's maternity session. Jenny is simply glowing. Soo pretty!

I must confess, I don't practice my photography on people very often. Definitely, made a few  mistakes, but learnt a great deal during this session as well. It's definitely a lot harder to shoot people vs. still life. Fun nonetheless.

Sneak Peek: Jenny

Thank you Jenny, for allow me to practice my photography on you. You just have that radiant pregnancy glow.

Family Fun

The wait is over! Kincaid and Austin Family, here are more photos of your family session.

Thank you for being my guinea pigs, and trusting me to take your family photos. Have to admit it was a bit challenging for me, but I think I did ok. =)

A Little Bit of Everything...

Saturday, March 20, 2010

Wow, it's been awhile since I've written a blog post. Just haven't had the time to shoot very much. I know, I know, I'm full of excuses, but...actually no but I don't have a reason. But my goal is to shoot every day, just so I can practice my craft. To help me with this, I will be be signing up for the Picture Spring Workshop. It's a 30 day workshop, that is conducted online. Not only that, but it's pretty inexpensive as well. Hopefully this class will help my creativity, motivate me to take a photo each each day, and to allow me to inspirations in my daily routine. To read more about this workshop, just click here. In addition to that, I will be attending my first photography smugmug meetup. I'm a little nervous about attending. Why?  First, I'm not a professional photographer, secondly, I wouldn't even call myself an amateur, and third ....I don't know. I am allowed to be nervous. Not to mention, the group leader of this meetup is Jasmine Star. She's such an amazing photographer. Look her up!
Here's a sneak peek of a family session, I shot last weekend in San Diego. My good friend, Marlith, as me to take some photos of her family, while they were in town for her husband's CoC (Change of Command). It was a bit challenging for me, since I've never shot a family session before. I posted a sneek peak for her on facebook, but I know Marlith is dying to see another one!!! Enjoy!

Smiles of Love: Haydee & Kevin

Tuesday, December 8, 2009

I'm finally getting around to blog this session. =) It's been a crazy busy! Working my regular 9-5 job, gym and just in general the madness of the holiday season being upon us. I'm happy to say though, that I'm finally able to blog my friend Haydee's session. She's been eagerly awaiting this post.

Ugh, I have no idea why I have these borders on the first two photos. And can't seem to figure out how to get rid of them. Oh well. It will just have to do for now. Also no clue, as to why some of the pics are pixalated. They aren't like that when I view them on my computer, just when i post on here. Weird. I'm sure I'll figure it out sooner or later.

Big Bear & The Austin Family

Wednesday, November 18, 2009

I've lived in SoCal for about 9 yrs now, but for some reason I just never had the chance to venture up to Big Bear. Two weekends ago, Mr. J. and I finally had the chance to explore and visit Big Bear. Another tenant in my office building graciously offered his cabin to us free of charge, after he heard that we both haven't been. It' was a quick weekend get-away, but Mr. J and I had so much fun, especially since we were able to spend it with our awesome friends the Austin's. We invited them to tag along with us, because we knew they needed a break from the daily grind as well. Who doesnt?! Anyway, we actually loved it up there so much, that we're planning another trip in the New Year. Hopefully, they will have snow by then, so that the boys can hit up the slopes. The weekend consisted of Food, Laughter & Food. I probably gained 5pounds that weekend. A small price to pay for a good time, wouldn't you say?!
Now, let me introduce to you to Spencer, Marlith & Baby Spencer ~ the Austin Family. Marlith and I met when we were Freshmen in College. And have been best friends since then. Actually, this story makes me chuckle, because to be honest when we first met, we didn't really like each other. This just shows, that first impressions aren't always right. After a few weeks of hanging out, we became fast friends. And here we are now, 10 year later. It was a pleasure shooting Marlith's family, and Mr. J and I are looking forward to many more trips together.

P.S.: I do have one more item to post for this shoot. However, I won't be able to do so until later on in the afternoon or tomorrow. It just all depends, and I don't want to spoil the surprise. I must say though, it's been extremely hard not publish this post sooner. Everyone that knows me, knows that I don't like surprises, nor do I do surprises. Mr. J is actually quite impressed that I held out this long without spilling the beans to them. =) Feel free to comment, as I'm always looking for feed back on how to improve.
